Jerusalem Day and Portion Bamidbar Lead to Shavuote
See the attached
and this message as to Why Jerusalem Day
helps our spirits RISE for Shavuote...
Sent from Rabbi Taragin on Jerusalem Day
King David used the word yachdav - unified -
when describing Yerushalayim Jerusalem
– city that connects together.”
our Teachers explain this phrase to mean that
Yerushalayim connects Jews to one another.
Yerushalayim is intended to unite the Jewish people.
This unity is integral to the goal of the Commandment of
the Yom Tov pilgrimage to Yerushalayim.
The mitzvah is to visit Yerushalayim,
for the Jewish people to ascend collectively.
Just as we stood unified before Hashem at Mount Sinai to accept the Torah,
so too are we meant to stand three times a year before Hashem at Har Hamoriathe Temple Mount.
Shabbat Shalom
Happy Jerusalem Day
