Reb shlomo explained – why do we forget how high we (our souls) can truly be?

because we forget our connection with the beyond beyond - (the "beyond" G-dliness represented by great Holy leaders like Moses and Aharon).

At Simchat Beit Shoeva (rejoicing on sukkot)

we try to re-create the joy of the holiest people dancing at the Holy Temple in Jerusalem -

and connect to G-d's great gify of JOY - something beyond the animal kingdon -

and beyond most people on a daily basis.
